Bertha Larson Davis

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 22, 1995 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Bertha L. Larson Davis

Bertha Davis, the daughter of Jacob and Bessie (Broughton) Eckert was born at Redington, Nebraska on July 4, 1911, and died at Aurora, Nebraska on November 19, 1995 at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 15 days.

She grew up and attended school at Dalton, Nebraska.

On September 14, 1927, she was united in marriage to Emil Larson at Sidney, Nebraska. They farmed near Aurora, where they raised their family. Emil died March 17, 1962.

On October 25, 1970, she was united in marriage to Donald Davis at Aurora. They farmed near Giltner until 1973 when they retired to their farm home near Aurora. Don died February 22, 1988.

Bertha was a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora, later transferring her membership to Marquette. She had always been active in the church and church circles, and her church membership spanned over 50 years. She started cooking at age 12, and loved cooking for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Emil Larson and Donald Davis, a son Irl and a daughter Rosanna Campbell, a brother Kenneth Eckert and a sister Virginia Adams, and 2 grandsons, Brent Larson and Russell Larson.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 4 sons, Warren, William, Robert, and Steven Larson all of Aurora, one daughter Susan Salmon of Grand Island, 2 step-daughters, Doris Lynch and Judi Crosby, 3 sisters Lorraine Seiler of Salt Lake City, Utah, Nellie Perry of Aurora, and Rose Einfalt of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, 32 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
