Eugene M. DeMaranville, age 78, of Aurora died Sunday morning, November 14, 1999, at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday at the Higby Mortuary Chapel. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M., Tuesday at Higby Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Mid-Nebraska Individual Services of Grand Island or to the family.
OBITUARY: EUGENE M. DEMARANVILLE
Eugene M. DeMaranville, the son of Roy and Isabelle (Hall) DeMaranville, was born at Aurora, Nebraska on June 30, 1921 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 14, 1999, at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 14 days.
He graduated from Aurora High School.
“Gene” was united in marriage to Arlene Ross on April 20, 1945 in Stockham, Nebraska at her parents home. They have lived in Aurora their entire married life. He worked for 15 years at Shaneyfelt Produce, 26 years as co-owner of the local Brandeis Store, 18 years as Supervisor of building and grounds at Aurora High School and 35 years as a locksmith.
He enjoyed his hobbies of locksmith, rose garden, traveling and dancing. He was a member of the Saddle Club, Eagles and Platt Duetsche.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Ed.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Aurora; three sons, Dave of Grand Island, Rod and his wife Marsha of Stockton, Illinois and Dick and his wife Karen of Battleground, Washington; one daughter, Barb and her husband Jerry Bohnart of Grand Island; a sister, Dorothy Beyer of Grand Island and six grandchildren.
