OBITUARY: Margaret Derrickson

Margaret Dickinson Derrickson, the daughter of Frederic and Minnie Stockwell (Dickinson) Leopold, was born at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 23, 1906, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 14, 1987 at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 21 days.

On April 12, 1929, she was united in marriage to Jehu Derrickson, at Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death in April of 1963.

Margay was a graduate of Roanoke College, in Roanoke, Virginia, and she taught school in the Marple School District of Pennsylvania form 1944 until her retirement in 1972. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Teachers.

In 1980 she moved to Aurora to be near her son.

Margay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, and one sister.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son J.F. “Derry” Derrickson and his wife Nancy of Aurora; two granddaughters, and four great granddaughters, and nieces and nephews.
