Evelyn Detamore

Evelyn Detamore, age 81, of Giltner died Wednesday afternoon, December 22, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday at the United Methodist Church in Giltner. Rev. Dwight DeLaet will officiate. Interment will be in Giltner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M., Sunday at Higby Mortuary.

OBITUARY: EVELYN DETAMORE

Evelyn Elizabeth Detamore, the daughter of Harvey and Minnie (Croxen) Bye, was born at Giltner, Nebraska on January 20, 1918 and died in Grand Island, Nebraska on December 22, 1999, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 2 days.

She grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner Public High School.

On April 26, 1939, she was united in marriage to Donald Detamore at Modesto, California. They made their home on a farm near Giltner.

She was a member of Giltner United Methodist Church, past President of the local Independent Order of Foresters, past member of the Trail Blazers Camping Club and honorary member of the GGG Club.

Her parents, sister, Audrey Risewig, brother, Darrell Bye and granddaughter Tonya (Detamore) Burns preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband Donald of Giltner; son, Frank Detamore of Hastings; three grandchildren, Terra Hinrichs of Giltner, Tracey Rutt of Hastings, Travis Detamore of Giltner; three great-grandchildren, Sierra Hinrichs, Benjamin Hinrichs, and Jordan Burns all of Giltner; four brothers, Harold Bye of Oakdale, California, Raymond Bye of Oakdale, California, Keith Bye of Modesto, California and Clarence Bye of Fountain Valley, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
