Dorothea Dissmeyer
Dorothea Dissmeyer, age 89, formerly of Hampton, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. Rev. Kurt Letcher will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: DOROTHEA DISSMEYER Dorothea Pauline Dissmeyer, the daughter of Louis O. and Sophie (Senff) Kohtz was born on a farm by Hampton, Nebraska on March 8, 1912, and died in Aurora, Nebraska, on June 23, 2001, at the age of 89 years. Dorothea was baptized on April 6, 1912, and was confirmed on March 24, 1925, at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. Her childhood days were spent on the farm on which she was born. Dorothea was united in marriage to Albert Dissmeyer on February 16, 1936, at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. They lived in Phoenix, Arizona a year, where Albert worked for the government, and spent a year in Toole, Utah, before returning to Hampton, Nebraska, to live on the farm. They farmed northeast of Hampton for 59 years, and then moved to Aurora, Nebraska. Mr. Dissmeyer died on October 25, 2000. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. Dorothea enjoyed gardening, crocheting and making various crafts, and she loved to play cards. Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Gladys Huebner and her husband Jim of Forsyth, Missouri and Gloria Bamesberger and her husband LaVerne of Marquette; 2 grandchildren, Robin Hansen and her husband Steve of Aurora, Craig Bamesberger of Houston, Texas, and two great-grandchildren, Mitch & Tara Hansen. |
