Albert DissmeyerAlbert Dissmeyer, age 87, formerly of Hampton, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000, at his home in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. OBITUARY: ALBERT DISSMEYER Albert William Henry Dissmeyer, the son of William and Mary (Poppe) Dissmeyer was born in Lincolnville, Kansas on February 2, 1913, and died in Aurora, Nebraska, on October 25, 2000, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 12 days. Albert was baptized March 9, 1913 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincolnville, Kansas. Albert’s mother passed away September 26, 1913. He moved to Nebraska, with his father, brothers and sisters, when he was 18 months old. They resided near Beatrice, where he attended school. At the age of 13, Albert came to Polk, Nebraska. He was confirmed June 11, 1933, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Hordville. Albert moved to Hampton in 1934. He spent one year in Phoenix, Arizona, and one year in Toole, Utah, as an employee of the U.S. Government, before returning to Hampton. Albert was united in marriage to Dorothea Kohtz on February 16, 1936, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton. They farmed northeast of Hampton for 59 years. They moved to Aurora and have resided there since. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothea of Aurora; two daughters, Gloria Bamesberger and her husband LaVerne of Marquette and Gladys Huebner and her husband Jim of Forsyth, Missouri; 2 grandchildren, Robin Hansen and her husband Steve of Aurora, Craig Bamesberger of Houston, Texas, and two great-grandchildren, Mitch & Tara Hansen. |
