OBITUARY: Mildred Dorsey

Mildred Marie Dorsey, the daughter of Lewis and Wanda (Smith) Campbell, was born at Gifford, Iowa, on March 2, 1924, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 28, 1994, at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 26 days.

She grew up and attended school in Gifford, Iowa, and in her early years she moved with her family to York, Nebraska.

On May 10, 1944, she was united in marriage to Darell Dorsey in York County, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1981. She resided in Fontana, California for several years, and for the last 10 years, she has lived in Aurora.

Mildred was baptized in the First Christian Church in York, Nebraska, and she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, a sister Maxine Nixon, one grandson Shawn Dorsey, and a special friend Brad Hollis.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Donald of Lemoyne, Michael of Aurora, and Stephen of Hampton; 4 daughters, Linda (Mrs. Jim) Ptacnik of Aurora, Helen (Mrs. Reggie) McGuigan of Pontiac, Michigan, Barbara (Mrs. Tom) Harty of San Bernardino, California, and Stephanie (Mrs. Marty) Auman of Marquette; one sister Margaret Brafford of Melbourne, Arkansas; and 11 grandchildren.
