Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 2, 1999 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Sophie Dose

Sophie L. Dose, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Blasé) Smith, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on September 11, 1911, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 31, 1998, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 20 days.

She grew up in Hamilton County, and attended country school. She lived with her parents and did housekeeping for neighbors until she married.

On April 3, 1934, she was united in marriage to Arthur Dose at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Polk. After her marriage they lived on a farm north of Hampton. In 1971, they moved into Hampton, and in September of 1996, she entered the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at Hampton, and belonged to the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing cards with a group in Hampton, and quilting with a group of ladies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers Alvin and Martin Smith; 2 sisters, Marie Smith and Viola Ziegelbein; one daughter Luella Brahmsteadt; and one grandson.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Art; a son Don and his wife Joyce, and one sister Norma Rhode and her husband Lester, all of Hampton; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
