Werner DriewerFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 21, 1988 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. OBITUARY: Werner G. Driewer Werner Gustav Driewer, the son of Henry and Anna (Otte) Driewer, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on February 21, 1905, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 17, 1988, at the age of 83 years and 26 days. His childhood was spent in the Hampton area, where he attended Zion Parochial School, and farmed. On January 19, 1928, he was united in marriage to Ruth Isernhagen, at Agra, Kansas. From 1930 to 1935 they farmed near Agra, for 5 years, and then returned to farm at Hampton. In 1954 they moved into Hampton, and in 1968, he retired from farming. After retiring from farming he served as custodian at Hampton Schools until 3 years ago. Werner was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Lutheran Laymens League, the Choir, and a member of Voters Assembly. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernest, Otto, Carl, and Arthur in infancy; and one sister Erna Krenke. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Ruth; 2 sons, Dwain of Bradshaw and Stuart of Kearney; 2 daughters, Delores Friesen and Joyce Ediger both of Aurora; 1 brother, Henry of Hebron; 3 sisters, Dorothy Mendenhall of Longview, Washington, Anna Parpart of Hampton and Erma Nelson of Galesburg, Illinois; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. |
