Marian Darlene Dvorak

Darlene Dvorak, age 80, of York, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 in York.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 14th at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Lilah Barker will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: DARLENE DVORAK

Marian Darlene Dvorak, the daughter of Earl and Marian (Hickey) Bennett, was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on October 22, 1929 and died in York, Nebraska on April 11, 2010, at the age of 80.

She grew up in Cedar Rapids and attended school there.

She was united in marriage to Edwin Duain Dvorak on June 2, 1949 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They lived in California for a time before moving back to Nebraska and living in Marquette. Darlene was a housewife and stay at home mother until her kids were grown. She worked for Larson Nursing Home in Aurora for 8 years. Edwin passed away on February 23, 1989.

Darlene enjoyed working outside in her yard planting flowers, growing vegetables and watching all the different birds that would fly up to the feeders. In the evenings she would sit out back and enjoy her moonflowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two sisters, Patricia Taden and Ruth Gross and a brother, Earl Bennett, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Dareda (Kelly) Wolfe of York, Richard (Skeeter) Dvorak of Loup City, Randall (Mickey) Dvorak of Marquette and Terence (Ila) Dvorak of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
