Ray Eckerson

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 9, 1984 at the Presbyterian Untied Church of Christ in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Ray S. Eckerson

Ray S. Eckerson, the son of Fred and Emma Titman Eckerson, was born at Kimball, Nebraska on October 10, 1893. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska, on July 5, 1984, having attainted the age of 90 years, 8 months and 25 days.

When he was two years old the family moved to Hamilton County, where he resided most of his life.

On December 18, 1915, he was united in marriage to Margaret Lewis at Grand Island, Nebraska. They farmed northwest of Aurora until 1962, when they retired and moved into Aurora. Margaret preceded him in death on December 21, 1974. Ray continued to reside in Aurora, but spent several winters in Florida.

Since residing in Aurora, he has attended the Presbyterian United Church of Christ.

Others who preceded him in death were his parents, his twin brother, Roy and one sister, Mrs. Sadie Lewis.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are one son, Garwyn Eckerson of Aurora; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Tucker of Aurora, Mrs. Erma Hines of Delta, Colorado, Mrs. Willa Martin of Anaheim, California and Mrs. Shirley White of Groton, New York; 22 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 step-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends.
