Ed EdigerEd L. Ediger, age 77, of Hampton died Friday, February 25, 2000. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson. Pastor Joe Agee will officiate. Interment will be in the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7, Sunday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to Mennonite Brethren Missions International. OBITUARY: ED EDIGER Ed L. Ediger, the son of John J. and Elizabeth (Quiring) Ediger, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska on August 7, 1922 and died near Hampton, Nebraska on February 25, 2000, at the age of 77 years 6 months and 18 days. Ed grew up near Hampton. He attended Hamilton County rural grade schools and graduated from Hampton High School in 1941. On July 8, 1945, he was united in marriage to Esther Goossen at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson. Ed lived in the Hampton area his entire life. He worked for Hampton Co-op delivering petroleum products, was a distributor for Mobil Oil Company and operated a fertilizer business before starting farming in 1960, which he continued until retirement. Ed was a member of the Mennonite Brethren U. S. Conference Board of Trustees, Central District Board of Trustees and Central District Board of Home Missions. Ed served on the Soil Conservation Board, Nebraska Natural Resources Commission and Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District Board. He also served the Henderson Mennonite Brethren Church in many capacities. His parents, daughter-in-law, Megan Ediger and sister, Lillian Winter, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Esther of Hampton; two sons, Ivan (Nancy) Ediger of Aurora, Dewayne Ediger of Peachtree City, Georgia; two daughters, Donna (Dave) Dreblow of Bloomington, Minnesota and Ruth (Mike) Peters of Hampton; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Ben (Mary) Ediger, John (Joan) Ediger and Larry (Joyce) Ediger all of Aurora, and Don (Lois) Ediger of Lincoln; two sisters, MaryAnn (Art) Regier of Hampton and Janice (Bob) Simonson of Omaha. |
