Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, February 27, 1992 at the Aurora Messiah Lutheran Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Barry Elder

Barry Dale Elder, the son of Dale and Darlene (Gordon) Elder, was born at Alexandria, Virginia, on May 21, 1958, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on February 24, 1992, at the age of 33 years, 9 months, and 3 days.

He grew up and attended school at Seward, Nebraska, and in 1972, the family moved to Aurora, where he graduated from High School in 1976. After graduation, he was employed as a meatcutter at the Red & White Grocery, and for the last few years, he has been a meatcutter at Econofoods in Grand Island.

On September 14, 1985, he was united in marriage to Teresa Fassnacht, at Aurora.

Barry was a member of the Aurora Messiah Lutheran Church, and belonged to the Aurora Jaycee’s and the Platte Valley Cruisers car club. He was also on Walleyball and Volleyball leagues at the Bremer Center in Aurora, and he enjoyed playing golf.

He was preceded in death by 2 grandfathers and a grandmother.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Teresa and daughter Katherine Leigh, both of Aurora. 2 sisters, Deb Wehmeier of Aurora and Cheri Keyes of Omaha. His parents, Dale and Darlene Elder of Aurora, and his grandmother, Enola Gordon of Rosco; brothers-in-law Wayne Wehmeier of Aurora, and Matt Keyes of Omaha; a niece Jari Ann and a nephew Jordon Wayne, both of Aurora; his in-laws Ramer and Iola Fassnacht, of Hampton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ralph and Glenell Ratzlaff of Henderson, and David and Joleen Gustafson of Wakefield and many other relatives and friends and co-workers.
