Esther ElgeFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 23, 1992 at the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church. Interment was held in the Monroe Church Cemetery. OBITUARY: Esther Elge Esther O. Elge, the daughter of the Reverend Carl and Amanda (Sutherland) Palmberg, was born at Stromsburg, Nebraska, on January 30, 1912, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 20, 1992, at the age of 79 years, 11 months, and 20 days. She grew up in the Stromsburg area, and later the family moved to Aurora, Nebraska, where she graduated from the Aurora High School in 1928. After graduation, she worked at the Anawalt & White Store for 5 years. On July 26, 1933, she was united in marriage to Elton Elge, at the Mamre Mission Church near Marquette. They farmed in the West Monroe Community, and were members of the Siloa Missin Church and then the West Monroe Free Church. In 1970, they moved into Aurora. Esther was a member of the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church, and held several offices, and also belonged to the Covenant Women. She was a former Sunday School teacher and choir member. She and her husband were active in the Nebraska Flying Farmer Association and flew to many of their activities. She was also a member of the Republican Women, WCTU, Hamilton Manor Auxiliary and the Gideons Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Oscar, Carl, Edwin, and Elmer; 2 sisters, Ruth Radcliff and Ida Larson. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Elton of Aurora; son Ronald and daughter-in-law Carolyn of Aurora; 2 daughters, Carolyn Solander of Aurora and Ruth and son-in-law Robert Dolan of Lewisville, Nebraska; one brother Einer Palmberg of Aurora and 6 grandchildren. |
