Mary Louise EllisonLouise Ellison, age 87, of Funk, formerly of Aurora, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 26th at the Aurora Cemetery. Chaplain DeWane Dow will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. prior to the service at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. OBITUARY: LOUISE ELLISON Mary Louise Ellison, the daughter of Jim and Nezzie Thomas, was born in Mount Croghan, South Carolina on January 26, 1923 and died in Holdrege, Nebraska on April 23, 2010, at the age of 87. She grew up and attended school in South Carolina. On March 5, 1943 she was united in marriage to Michael L. Ellison at Charleston, South Carolina. They later moved to St. Edward, Nebraska where they farmed for nine years. In 1961 they moved to Aurora where they purchased the Grandview Café, which they operated until Michael passed away on September 2, 1974. Louise spent the last 10 years living in Funk, Nebraska residing the last happy months of her life in the Christian Homes nursing home. Louise loved to travel, camp with her grandkids and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; and sisters and brothers. Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, James M. Ellison of Funk and Joanne L. (Ellison) Wilson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and cousin, Germaine Harwood of Burlington, North Carolina. |
