Fred Emken

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 13, 1989 at the Aurora Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Fred Emken

Fred Edward Emken, the son of Heio and Annie (Egge) Emken, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 27, 1907, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 9, 1989, at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 12 days.

He attended District #6 rural school.

On September 1, 1935, he was united in marriage to Helen Thompson at Aurora.

He farmed near Aurora, Hampton, and Phillips, and in 1949, they moved to Giltner where he continued farming, until 1975, when he retired and moved to Aurora. For the past 20 months he had resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Fred was a member of the Christian Church in Aurora, and was also a member of the Federal Land Bank Board, and the Giltner Elevator Co-op board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Edwin, and sisters Kathryn Mersch and Velma Arnold.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Helen, of Aurora; one son Rodale of Holdrege and one daughter Jean Taylor of Mulberry, Florida and 5 grandchildren
