Marie EppMarie Epp, age 93, of Aurora, died Friday evening, July 7, 2000, at the Hamilton Manor. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Faith Evangelical Bible Church in Henderson. Rev. Frank Thomas and Rev. Tom Justice will officiate. Interment will be at the EBC Cemetery south of Henderson. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to The Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches. OBITUARY: MARIE EPP Marie E. Epp, the daughter of Peter P. and Katharina (Wall) Epp, was born at Henderson, Nebraska on November 7, 1906 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on July 7, 2000, at the age of 93 years and 8 months. She grew up near Henderson and attended District School #37. Marie attended summer sessions at York College. She attended Hesston College in Kansas and Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Marie taught school for 38 years. She taught at Meade, Kansas for 2 years, Christian Day School in Mt. Lake, Minnesota for 9 years, Henderson and Aurora Vicinity Schools for 7 years and first grade in Henderson for 20 years. She retired in 1974. In 1976, Marie and her sister moved to the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, where they were busy with volunteer work at the Day Care Center and Senior Center and nursing homes for 6 years. In 1984, they moved to Aurora and continued volunteering at Day Care Centers, and caring for babies. For relaxation she traveled. For the past several years she had resided at the nursing home in Aurora. Marie was a member of the Evangelical Bible Church at Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Barbara Regier and Katharine Wall. Survivors include her nieces and nephews and other relatives. |
