Harry EricksenFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 13, 1997 at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery. OBITUARY: Harry Ericksen Harry Ericksen, the son of Jens and Dorothea (Rasmussen) Eriksen, was born near Hordville, Nebraska, on October 31, 1904, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 11, 1997, at the age of 92 years, 5 months, and 10 days. He grew up near Hordville, where he attended country school district # 90. Later he worked on the family farm. On June 6, 1933, he was united in marriage to Hertha Bratke, at Clay Center, Kansas. She preceded him in death on October 15, 1987. They made their home in Hampton, where Harry was in partnership with his brother John in the autobobile business. In 1951, they moved to Grand Island, where he ran the Red Band Motel. In 1957, they moved to Columbus, where he operated a motel and also worked for Dale Electronics. In 1974, he retired and moved to Hampton. On May 26, 1990, he entered the Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Harry was a member of the Hampton United Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Warren; two brothers, John and Carroll, and 2 half-sisters, Minnie and Stella Petersen. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his brother Arnold and his wife Loretta of Grand Island, and nieces and nephews. |
