Hertha EricksenFuneral Services were held 2:30 P.M., Monday, October 19, 1987 at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery. OBITUARY: Hertha B. Ericksen Hertha B. Ericksen, the daughter of Adolph and Anna Junge Bratke, was born March 22, 1909 at Omaha, Nebraska, and passed away October 15, 1987 at Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 23 days. She grew up and attended school in Omaha, and attended College at Wayne, Nebraska. Hertha then taught school in Hordville and later in Hampton. On June 6, 1933, she was united in marriage to Harry Ericksen at Clay Center, Kansas. They lived in Hampton from 1933 to 1951, then moving to Grand Island where they ran a motel and she taught school. Later they moved to Columbus where they ran a motel and she taught school at Monroe, Nebraska. In 1974 they retired to Hampton. Hertha was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Hampton, and the Retired Teachers’ Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Warren, and 2 brothers. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Harry; 3 sisters, Sally Church of Lincoln, Thea Burrows of Omaha, and Edie Reardon of Los Angeles, California; other relatives and a host of friends. |
