Hilda Eriksen

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 7, 1983 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Hilda C. Eriksen

Hilda C. Eriksen, the daughter of Chris and Hilda Petersen Christensen, was born at Marquette, Nebraska, on October 14, 1901. Her death occurred at Concord, California, on January 2, 1983, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 18 days.

She spent her childhood in the vicinity of her birth and received her education in the schools of that vicinity.

At an early age, she was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. While residing in different places, she has remained true to her faith and attended Lutheran Churches in that vicinity.

On December 16, 1924, she was united in marriage to Alfred Eriksen at Kronborg. They established their home in Omaha until 1929, when they moved to the Marquette vicinity and engaged in farming. In 1931 they moved to Aurora, residing here until 1941, when they moved to Berkeley, California until their retirement in 1941. They then returned to Marquette, where they were residing at the time of her husband’s death on July 9, 1971. In 1973 she moved to Concord, California, where she made her home with a daughter.

Preceded her in death were her parents, husband, one sister Mrs. August Smith and one grandchild.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are three daughters, Mrs. Meta Waldrop of Concord, California, Mrs. Gerda Van Gordon of Grand Gorge, New York and Mrs. Arlene Hannah of Concord, California; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends.
