Mamie EriksenFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 22, 1992 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Mamie Eriksen Mamie Myrtle Eriksen, the daughter of John and Lydia (Kruse) Berck, was born at Boelus, Nebraska, on July 20, 1904, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 19, 1992, at the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 29 days. At an early age her family moved to York, Nebraska, and they lived in various communities. She graduated from the Aurora High School, and then attended the York Business College and graduated in 1926. On July 6, 1929, she was united in marriage to Arild Eriksen at Belvue, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1982. She was employed by various banking institutions, and was last employed by the First National Bank in Aurora, where she served as secretary, teller, and cashier. Her banking experience totaled 50 years. Mamie was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, Avis Berck and Myrtle Anderson, and one brother Borden Berck. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 5 brothers, Woodrow and Linley Berck, both of Marquette, Vern (Bud) Berck of Gresham, Archie Berck of Cuero, Texas, and Marvel (Jimmy) Berck of Lincoln; 2 sisters, Lillian Newcomer of Stromsburg and Ethel Schwarz of Phoenix, Arizona; and a brother-in-law Holger G. Eriksen, of Central City, and nieces and nephews. |
