OBITUARY: Orville Etherton

Orville Nutten Etherton, the son of Stephen and Laura (Rine) Etherton, was born in Page County, Iowa, on November 13, 1908, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 23, 1994, at the age of 85 years, 9 months, and 10 days.

The family moved to Nebraska, and he was a trainer and jockey for Harry Reed. During World War 2 he worked in the housing construction business in Grand Island, and later lived on a farm in Buffalo, Missouri.

In October of 1945 he was united in marriage to Jeanette Reed. She preceded him in death in June of 1975. In 1989, he moved to Aurora to be near relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and six sisters.

His survivors include a sister-in-law, Mildred Reed of Aurora, a niece Audrey Sweeney of Aurora, and other relatives.
