Clifton EvansFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 28, 1994 at the Monroe Evangelical Free Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Clifton Evans Clifton L. Evans, the son of Lyman Grant and Ida (VanDeusen) Evans, was born near Murphy, Nebraska, on December 9, 1910, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 24, 1994, at the age of 84 years, and 15 days. He grew up near Murphy, attended Mount Vernon Country School, and farmed with his father and worked as a farm hand for neighbors, in 1933, the family moved to Hordville. On December 29, 1935, he was united in marriage to Effie Tivis, near Murphy. They farmed near Murphy, then Marquette, and on October 4, 1974, they moved into Aurora and were employed by Higby Mortuary until they moved into their present home in 1984. Clifton was a long time member of the Monroe Evangelical Free Church, had been a deacon and served in several other offices. He was also a very active member of the Aurora Lions Club, which was a very big part of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Gordon and Lyle; 2 sisters Myrtle Marvel and Gladys Agan, and an infant sister. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Effie of Aurora, and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. |
