Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 23, 1995 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Effie Evans

Effie E. Evans, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Cox) Tivis, was born at Aurora, Nebraska on March 29, 1914, and died at Aurora, Nebraska on May 20, 1995, at the age of 81 years, 1 month, and 21 days.

Effie grew up in Hamilton County, where she attended schools and graduated from Aurora High School in 1932.

On December 29, 1935 she was united in marriage to Clifton Evans near Murphy, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1994.

They farmed near Murphy, and then Marquette. On October 4, 1974 they moved into Aurora and were employed by Higby Mortuary until retiring in 1984.

Effie was a member of the Monroe Evangelical Free Church, and had been very active in many activities and groups. She was also very active in Hamilton Manor Auxiliary, and AARP, where she had served as local president.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother Ralph Tivis, and 1 sister Mildred Bergmark.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are nieces, nephews, and other relatives and close friends.
