James Farrand
Jim Farrand, age 49, of Aurora died Monday night, February 9, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 13th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Craig Doty will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Thursday at St. Mary’s Church in Aurora, with the Rosary at 7:30 P.M. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: JAMES FARRAND James Mark Farrand, the son of Clarence R. and Wanda I. (Davidson) Farrand, was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 1, 1954 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on February 9, 2004, at the age of 49. He grew up in Harvard. Jim graduated from Harvard High School. He received his Bachelor of Education form the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Jim was united in marriage to Lee Ann Cronk on June 6, 1980 at Ewing, Nebraska. He was a teacher and coach at Orchard, Nebraska before moving to Aurora, where he has been a teacher and coach for the last 25 years. He enjoyed coaching, football, wrestling and track. Jim was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Nebraska Coaches Association, the National Educators Association (NEA) and the Nebraska State Educators Association (NSEA) and Geography Educators of Nebraska. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Lee Ann of Aurora; children, Jamie Warren of Hastings, Karla Jo, Abbie Lynn and Andrew James (A.J.) all of Aurora; parents, Clarence and Wanda Farrand of Harvard; brother, John (Diane) Farrand of Lincoln and sister, Mary (Steve) Carriker of Clay Center. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and parents-in-law, Warren and Carmen Cronk of Page, NE. |
