Frank FarrFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 11, 1983 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Frank M. Farr Frank M. Farr, the son of Edmund and Myrtle McCumber Farr, was born at Blair, Nebraska, on January 20, 1897. His death occurred at Lincoln, Nebraska, on August 8, 1983, at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 18 days. He spent his childhood in the vicinity of Blair and graduated from Blair High School. In 1915 he graduated from Dana College in Blair. He spent 6 years in the banking business in Kimball and Bushnell, Nebraska and then went to a bank in Paxton, Nebraska. In 1934 he came to Aurora where he was associated with the First National Bank here for many years and at the time of his retirement was president of the bank. On June 22, 1925, he was united in marriage to Alice M. Johnson at Axtell, Nebraska. While residing in Aurora, Frank was a member of the United Methodist Church and had served on several boards in the operation of the church. He was a member of the Aurora Rotary Club and served one year as president, and had 33 years of perfect attendance. He was Past Master of the Aurora Lodge No. 68 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Royal Arch Masons. He served 4 years on the board of directors of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce one year which he served as vice-president. He was a member of the Nebraska Banker Association. In 1938 he was appointed to the committee to aid National Youth Movement. His parents and 1 brother Howard had preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Alice and her 2 nephews; one niece and several grand nieces and nephews. |
