Gustie Ferguson

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 5, 1995 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

Obituary: Gustie Ferguson

Gustie Ann Ferguson, the daughter of Gustave and Theresa (Baumann) Hehnke, was born at Grand Island, Nebraska, on June 9, 1912, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 3, 1995, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 24 days.

She grew up and received her education in Grand Island.

On August 14, 1939, she was united in marriage to Donald M. Ferguson. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1964. Her married life was spent in Marquette, where she served as director and president of the First National Bank of Marquette from 1964 to 1990. In January of 1991, she entered the Memorial Community Care at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Gustie was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grand Island, and later transferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg. She was also a member of the Central City Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Fred and Albert Hehnke, 2 sisters, Irene Webster and Maebelle Anderson, and one infant grandchild.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, John of Marquette, and Todd of Tustin, California; 2 daughters, Ann T. Richart of Omaha, and Jane Berg of Bennet; 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
