Imogene FloreaImogene Florea, age 94, of Aurora died Sunday night, October 31, 1999, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Rev. Jay Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be at Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 Wednesday at Higby Mortuary. OBITUARY: IMOGENE FLOREA Imogene Florea, the daughter of Frederick and Myrtle (Pollard) Splinter, was born on a farm near Hampton, Nebraska on April 14, 1905 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 31, 1999, at the age of 94 years, 6 months and 17 days. She was born and raised on her grandparent’s homestead. Imogene went to country school and attended Aurora High School. She was united in marriage to John Florea on December 15, 1925 in Aurora, Nebraska. They began farming in Hamilton County. In 1972, they moved into Aurora. In November of 1996, they moved into the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. John passed away on March 17, 1998. Imogene spent most of her time being a mother and grandmother. She also liked to spend her time sewing, reading, gardening and canning. She was a member of First Christian Church. She was active in Extension Club and Church Circle. Her parents, husband and brother, Wilbur Splinter, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Ronald and his wife Leslie of Hampton, and one daughter, Dorothy Bish and her husband Bill of West Point; one sister, Mrs. Genevieve Wilshusen of Aurora; one brother, Leonard Splinter of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. |
