Allene Forsman
Allene Forsman, age 87, of Aurora, Nebraska died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 21st at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora, Nebraska. Rev. Bob Pier and Rev. Larry Dieckman will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. on Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. The family will greet friends from 5 - 7 P.M. OBITUARY: ALLENE FORSMAN Allene Mabel Rath Forsman, was born October 26, 1915 in Clay County, Nebraska to Irving and Mabel (Erickson) Rath. She graduated from Harvard High School in and then attended Kearney State College where she earned her teaching certificate. She vowed to be the best teacher possible and was successful in that endeavor as attested to by many students in several rural schools and the Giltner and Phillips school districts. On June 1, 1941 in Eldorado, Nebraska she was united in marriage to Ivan Forsman who was her loving husband for 58 years. Together they farmed in the Monroe precinct in Hamilton County. Following retirement, they moved to Aurora. For many years they were active in the Monroe Evangelical Free Church and more recently attended Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Allene's primary goal in life was to serve her Lord Jesus Christ with her wonderful gift of hospitality. She loved having people visit in her home and always had a meal or at least a cup of coffee and a home baked treat to share with her guests. Her second goal in life was to serve her family by being the best wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she possibly could be. She tirelessly cared for her family, leaving a wonderful legacy for those she loved so dearly. Her third goal was to serve her friends and neighbors. Countless persons have been the recipients of her delicious baked goodies or her beautiful crocheted or knitted items. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Ivan and Raymond and one sister, Evelyn Dieckman. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Richard (Judy) of Omaha, NE, Patricia (Paul) Bunger of Sioux Falls, SD, and Kent of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren, Deborah (Michael) Loftus of Omaha, NE, Jennifer Forsman of Worcester, MA, John Forsman of Santa Fe, NM, Eric (Sara) Forsman of Liberty, MO, Brett Forsman of Aurora, NE and Andrew (Tennille) Bunger of Melbourne, Australia; great-granddaughter, Matilda Loftus of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by her brother Lester Rath of Sutton, NE; two sisters, Marian (Dale) Oswald of Aurora, NE and Eunice Kissel of Cozad, NE; sister-in-law, Mildred Rath of Harvard, NE and a number of nieces and nephews. |
