Ivan ForsmanIvan Forsman, age 89, of Aurora died Friday night, July 23, 1999, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Barry McCormick will officiate. Interment will be at Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 Sunday at Higby Mortuary. Memorials will be directed to several special mission projects. OBITUARY: IVAN FORSMAN Ivan William Forsman, the son of Gustaf and Kristin (Zavgren) Forsman, was born in a sod house in Loup City, Nebraska on March 11, 1910 and died in Omaha, Nebraska on July 23, 1999, at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 12 days. He attended school through the eighth grade in the Loup City and Aurora areas. At age 17 he went on to study music at the Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis for two years. On June 1, 1941, he was united in marriage to Allene Rath in Eldorado, Nebraska. Together they farmed in the Monroe Precinct in Hamilton County. Following retirement they moved to their present home in Aurora. He was a member of the Monroe Evangelical Free Church, where he directed the choir and Men’s chorus for 35 years. He currently attended Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. In his retirement he continued to enjoy music, gardening and spending time with family and friends. His parents, two brothers, Eric and Uno; three sisters, Bertha Forsman, Elsa Gustafson and Alice Forsman preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Allene of Aurora, two sons, Dr. Richard and his wife Judy of Omaha, Nebraska, Kent of Aurora; one daughter, Dr. Patricia Bunger and her husband Dr. Paul Bunger of Yankton, South Dakota; six grandchildren; Deborah and Jennifer Forsman of Omaha, John and Eric Forsman of Omaha, Brett Forsman of Aurora and Andrew Bunger of Minneapolis, Minnesota and special nephew Wilton Forsman and his family of Aurora. |
