Ida FrancisFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 30, 1985 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Ida Mae Francis Ida Mae Francis, the daughter of Edward and Ethel (McGinley) Walker, was born at York, Nebraska, on May 21, 1911, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on July 26, 1985, at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 5 days. She grew up and attended school in York County, and on March 20, 1932, she was united in marriage to Marshall “Barney” Francis at McCool Junction, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1979. They resided in York County, until 1940, when they moved to San Diego, California. In 1946, they returned to Nebraska, settling in Hamilton County, on a farm near Marquette. In 1974, they moved into Marquette. Ida Mae was baptized at Bethel United Bretheran Church in York County, and later moved her membership to the United Methodist Church at Marquette, where she belonged to the Naomi Circle. She was also active in the Church Women United, the Marquette Senior Citizens, the Marquette Lioness, and the S.O.S. Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Joe and John; and one sister Ruth Ellis, and one infant grandson. Those who remain to cherish his memory are her son, William, of Funk, Nebraska; 3 daughters, Patsy Ann Carriker of Aurora, Judy Gillham of Newman Grove and Donna Pierce of Central City; one brother, Ray Walker of San Luis Obispo, California; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. |
