Marshall FrancisFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 12, 1979 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Marshall Glen Francis Son of William & Myrtle Hurt Francis was born August 12, 1907 at Gibbon, Nebraska and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 71 years 5 months and 27 days. His early life, as a small boy, was spent at Gibbon, and then moved with his parents to York County. On March 20, 1932 he was united in marriage to Ida Mae Walker at McCool Junction, Nebraska. He resided in York County until 1940 when he moved to California where he worked in the aircraft plant at San Diego, California. In 1946 he returned to Nebraska settling in Hamilton County where he farmed. In 1974 he moved into Marquette, but continued with his occupation as farmer, retiring in 1978 because of ill health. He was the father of four children; a son, William of Grand Island, three daughters; Mrs. Donna Pierce of Central City, Mrs. Pat Carriker of Aurora and Mrs. Judy Gillham of Newman Grove. There are nine grandchildren. He leaves three brothers. Arthur of Lincoln, Ray of Neligh and Howard of Longview, Washington. Two sisters. Mrs. Fay Jolley of San Marcos, California and Mrs. Vera Calkins of Scottsdale, Arizona. Marshall, better known as Barney, was well liked by all and therefore he leaves behind many loyal friends. He was a member of the Marquette United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents. |
