Ingeborg Franz
Ingeborg Franz, age 89, of Aurora, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the Hamilton Manor. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 4th at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel. Rev. Sheryl Kester Beyer will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 P.M. Thursday at the Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. OBITUARY: INGEBORG FRANZ Ingeborg Franz, the daughter of Walter and Hedwig (Knaack) Doerksen, was born in Stettin, Germany on March 19, 1919 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on April 1, 2008, at the age of 89. Ingeborg grew up in Germany and graduated from a German High School in Berlin. She came to the United State in 1951 and became a citizen in 1957. Ingeborg married Paul Franz on March 15, 1952 at Henderson, Nebraska. They lived on three different farms near Hampton and Bradshaw, before moving into Aurora in 1971. Ingeborg became legally blind in 1974. She authored a book on her life in Germany called, “Let There Be Peace” while losing her eyesight. Paul passed away on January 5, 1996. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Annemarie. She is survived by a brother-in-law, George (Cleola) Franz of Henderson; nieces, Iris (Lowell) Peters of Aurora, Nancy (Ken) German of Cypress, Texas, Darlene (Gary) Jantzen of Meno, Oklahoma, Roine (Don) Klassen of Harrisburg, South Dakota, Jolene (Dennis) Johnson of Greeley, Colorado, Kathy (Roger) Ripley of Lincoln; nephews, Lonnie (Krystie) Huebert of Lincoln, Tim (Sylvia) Mierau of Monroe, Washington, Lowell (Deb) Franz of Stromsburg and Greg (Jan) Franz of Wenatchee Falls, Washington. |
