David FriesenFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 19, 1990 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: David P. Friesen David P. Friesen, the son of Peter and Eva (Abrahams) Friesen, was born on a farm near Henderson, Nebraska, on April 23, 1900, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 17, 1990, at the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 24 days. He attended Henderson Schools, and then went to Bethel College in Newton, Kansas, and York College. He taught school in Henderson for 20 years. On June 17, 1926, he was united in marriage to Anna M. Tessman at Henderson. They farmed near Hampton for 11 years, and in 1955, they moved to Aurora, where he worked for the soil conservation office for several years. Later he worked for Farm Aid, and Lyle Shaneyfelt Produce. He retired in 1972. David was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and had taught Sunday School. He also sang in the male choruses in Henderson and Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, John, Peter, Henry, Rev. Abraham W., and Jake; 4 sisters, Sarah Kroeker, Eva Friesen, Anna Ratzlaff, and Tena Friesen; and one infant grandchild. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Anna of Aurora; 2 sons, Jerry of Aurora and Max of Hampton; 2 daughters, Norma Hutsell of Aurora and Lois Northrop of Clay Center; one brother William P. of Henderson; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. |
