Brent FurseFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 28, 1988 at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Brent L. Furse Brent L. Furse, the son of Ronald L. and Nancy (Lancaster) Furse, was born at Denison, Iowa on September 13, 1963, and passed away at Ventura, California on October 22, 1988, at the age of 25 years, 1 month and 9 days. He moved with his parents to Aurora in 1965 where he grew up and attended school. He was a 1982 graduate of Aurora High School, where he had participated in wrestling, football, cross country and track, as well as other activities. He received scouting’s highest award, the Eagle Scout Award in 1980. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Aurora. Brent served as president of the Alpha Psi Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity while attending the University of Nebraska, and was active in the interfraternity committees. Following his graduation from the University of Nebraska School of Journalism in 1987, he joined the staff of the Oxnard Press-Courier Daily Newspaper in California as an account executive in the advertising department, where he was employed at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald R. Furse. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his parents, Butch and Nancy of Aurora; 2 brothers, Mike of Nehawka and B. Jay, a student at the University of Minnesota. In addition he is survived by a sister-in-law Mrs. Mike (Cheryl Heuermann) Furse and nephew Christopher of Nehawka, his grandparents Mrs. Irene Furse of Aurora and Mr. And Mrs. Raymond Lancaster of Murray, and other relatives and close friends. |
