Edmundo 'Raymond' Garcia

Edmundo ‘Raymond’ Garcia, age 79, formerly of Aurora, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010, at Liberty Terrace in Liberty, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 26th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Dennis Hunt will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Aurora. Visitation will be one hour prior to service, with the Rosary at 9:30 A.M. OBITUARY: EDMUNDO ‘RAYMOND’ GARCIA

Edmundo ‘Raymond’ Garcia, the son of Julia and Jesus Garcia, was born in Mexico on November 13, 1930 and died in Liberty, Missouri on October 22, 2010, at the age of 79.

He grew up in Mexico and moved to the United States in the 1940’s. Raymond was married to Estella (Montelongo) Cordova in November 1956. In 1959, the family moved to Aurora, where Raymond worked at Red & White and the Aurora Mall. He did farm work for Marion Condon. Estella passed away in 1973. Raymond moved to Colorado in the late 1970’s before moving to Missouri in 1982, where he lived with his son, Richard and his family. Raymond worked at a horse farm and nursery while in Missouri, before he entered a care facility in 2000 due to his health. He especially enjoyed visits from his granddaughter, Vanessa, while in the nursing home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, son, Jesus and two grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Richard (Deb) Garcia of Parkville, Missouri, Robert Garcia of Sacramento, California and Mark (Maria) Garcia of Milliken, Colorado; three daughters, Julie (Jerry) Bartley of Aurora, Becky Eshbaugh of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jolanda Garcia of Fullerton; two step-daughters, Rachel Cordova and Teresa Madden both of Aurora; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and his brothers and sisters, still residing in Mexico and many other relatives and friends.
