Doyle GarwoodDoyle M. Garwood, age 83, of Aurora died Friday afternoon, September 15, 2000 at Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Seth Leypold will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. OBITUARY: DOYLE GARWOOD Doyle M. Garwood, the son of Roy E. and Clara M. (Rundle) Garwood, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on July 28, 1917 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 15, 2000, at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 16 days. He grew up in Ansley where he graduated from High School. Doyle helped his parents manage the family farm and Garwood Dairy. On September 14, 1940, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou King at Gibbon. In 1952, they moved to Aurora where he worked as superintendent of the Aurora Cemetery for 36 years. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with family on September 10, 2000. Doyle was a member of the Golden Age Eagles. He was a member of the Men’s Bremer Center Card Club and various other card clubs over the years. He enjoyed dancing. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Betty Lou of Aurora; one daughter, Marva Furbur and her husband James of Columbus; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; two sisters, Verla Fox and her husband Clarence of Ord and Betty Ann Morgan and her husband Gilford of Kearney; and foster daughter, Mary Williams. |
