Edith Geene

Edith Pettey Geene, age 67, formerly of York and Rancho Cordova, California, died Saturday morning, April 29, 2000 at Integrated Health Services in Central City, Nebraska.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday at Higby Mortuary Chapel in Aurora. Reverend Harry Brown will officiate. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

OBITUARY: EDITH GEENE

Edith Pettey Geene, the daughter of Walter E. and Jennie (Nofziger) Pettey, was born in San Diego, California on June 26, 1932, and died in Central City, Nebraska, on April 29, 2000, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 3 days.

She attended San Diego Union Academy and graduated High School in June, 1953. She attended two years La Sierra College, La Sierra, California.

Edith possessed a warm loving spirit. She married Robert C. Geene on December 23, 1994. She retired from Sacramento County District Court Clerks office following 10 years service in 1995. She enjoyed reading, crafts, sewing and garage sales.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Geene, her mother Jennie (Jane) Gemeinhardt and her grandmother, Edith Kerns Warne.

She will be missed by five daughters, Jenni (Craig) Falmlen of Aurora, Gale Simcoe of Lincoln, Melissa (Craig) Marshall of Colfax, California, Melinda Messer-Hunt of Fresno, California and Sarajane Smith of Grant’s Pass, Oregon; a brother, Galen A. (Anne) Pettey of Prosser, Washington; 8 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many friends.
