Funeral Services were held 9:30 A.M., Saturday, April 3, 1993 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Prairie Rose Cemetery in Corning, Iowa.

OBITUARY: Irene Gerard

Irene M. Gerard, the daughter of Paul and Ida (Kath) Medow, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on August 5, 1902, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 31, 1993, at the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 26 days.

She grew up near Hampton, where she attended school, and later graduated from business college.

She was united in marriage to Harold Gerard, at the Salem Lutheran Church near Hampton. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1973. Her husband was an electrical engineer for the government, and his employment took them to many different locations in the northwest United States. She had resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora since 1975.

Irene was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Jerry and Adolph Medow, and one sister Gertrude Troester.

She is survived by one stepson Howard of Houston, Texas; one sister Lily Packer of Twin Falls, Idaho; 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
