Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 18, 1993 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Ada Gimpel

Ada Lee Gimpel, the daughter of Joe and Susie (Goodrum) Shelton, was born at Ardmore, Oklahoma, on February 9, 1898, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 15, 1993, at the age of 95 years, 6 months, and 6 days.

She grew up and attended school at Ada, Oklahoma.

On February 4, 1922, she was united in marriage to George Gimpel, at Aurora, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1970. They farmed near Aurora until his death, and she moved into Aurora. In January of 1985, she entered the Hamilton Manor.

She was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church. She enjoyed her church, and was also active in the Senior Center. She was a charter member of the North Community Club, and she enjoyed cooking and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Wayne of La Porte, Colorado; three daughters, Dorothy Jess of Aurora, Darletta Broadway of Grand Island, and Mary Campbell of Aurora; one sister, Ida Morris of Seattle, Washington; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
