Gladys Gimpel

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 26, 1994 at the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Gladys Gimpel

Gladys B. Gimpel, the daughter of William and Ruth (Slutz) Ranard, was born at Giltner, Nebraska, on March 6, 1911, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on September 23, 1994, at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 17 days.

She grew up and attended Giltner Schools.

On November 20, 1928, she was united in marriage to Arthur Gimpel at Grand Island. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1980. They farmed southwest of Aurora until they retired in 1973, and moved into Aurora. She entered the Hamilton Manor on October 15, 1992.

Gladys was a member of the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church. She enjoyed doing hand work and sewing for her grandchildren, until her eye sight began to fail in later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son H. Dean Gimpel; 2 brothers, Jake and Pete Ranard, and one sister Ruth Aylor.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 3 sons, Robert, Larry and Garry, all of Aurora; 3 daughters, Betty McNerney of Giltner, Ruth Decker of Grand Island, and Lucille Thomsen of Aurora; a sister-in-law Mrs. Clara Huebert of Aurora, a daughter-in-law Sharon Gimpel of Aurora; 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
