Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 24, 1994 at Countryside Bible Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the M.B. Cemetery in Henderson, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Jacob B. Goertzen

Jacob B. Goertzen, the son of Bernard and Aganatha (Braun) Goertzen, was born near Hampton, Nebraska on December 13, 1904, and died at Aurora, Nebraska on December 21, 1994, at the age of 90 years and 8 days.

Jacob was raised near Hampton, and attended country school, until he reached the age that he began helping his father on the family farm full time.

On April 29, 1936 he was united in marriage to Inez Goentzel at Ebenfeld M.B. Church near Hillsboro, Kansas. He began farming on his own at a farm near the family farm, and also continued to manage the family farm. They moved to Aurora in 1972 when he retired, but he continued to help with the farm as long as his health permitted.

Jacob was raised as a member of the M.B. Church in Henderson, where he was active for most of his life. Recently he had joined the new Countryside Bible Church near Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Ben and John, and 4 sisters, Agnes Goertzen, Sarah Kornelson, Mary Goertzen, and Susie Kliewer.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Inez of Aurora, one son Dennis Goertzen of Henderson, 2 daughters, Neva Penner of Los Angeles, California and Lois Ediger of Lincoln, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
