Minnie Goertzen

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 6, 1993 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Minnie Goertzen

Minnie Goertzen, the daughter of John and Anna (Rempel) Friesen, was born at Henderson, Nebraska, on June 1, 1906, and died April 3, 1993, at Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 2 days.

She grew up and attended country school at Henderson.

On October 9, 1927, she was united in marriage to Abraham Goertzen at Henderson. They farmed south of Aurora until 1964 when they moved into Aurora. She worked at Hamilton Manor from 1965 to 1970. Mr. Goertzen preceded her in death on December 14, 1985. Minnie entered Hamilton Manor on January 13 of this year.

Mrs. Goertzen was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora, and had been active in the Aurora Senior Citizens Center.

Those who preceded her in death are her parents, her husband, one brother, Rudolph J. Friesen, and a twin brother and sister in infancy.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 5 sons, Milton, Leo, Johnny, and Denton Goertzen of Aurora, and Everett Goertzen of Polk; 4 daughters, Josephine Trautman of Holdrege, Liz Bicknase and Amanda Williams of Aurora, and Marlene Schmidt of Lincoln; one brother, Henry Friesen of Henderson; 3 sisters, Eva Epp of Henderson, Alma Friesen of Dallas, Oregon and Malita Ehlers of Utica, Nebraska; 32 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
