Orville GrayFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 22, 1988 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Orville Gray Orville James Gray, the son of John and Lydia (Rector) Gray, was born at Angus, Nebraska, on December 23, 1916, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 19, 1988, at the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 26 days. The family moved to Aurora in 1920, and he attended Aurora Schools, and worked several places in the Aurora area. On April 6, 1940, he was united in marriage to Velma Newlun, at Grand Island. After marriage he worked at the Cornhusker Ammunition Plant. He worked as an electrician and from 1962 to 1965 he worked in Colorado, then to Indiana, until 1966, when he returned to Aurora. In 1979 he retired. Orville was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank, Alden, Elmer, and infant twin brothers; 2 sisters Alma and Opal. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Velma; 2 sons Jim and Phillip both of Aurora; one daughter Kay Gallegos of Aurora; one sister Esther Rogers of Grand Island and 5 grandchildren. |
