Ada Green
Ada Belle Green, age 100, of Aurora, died Thursday morning, September 26, 2002, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Seth Leypoldt will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: ADA BELLE GREEN Ada Belle Green, the daughter of Charley and Nettie (Henderson) Lantzer, was born on a farm north of Aurora, Nebraska on November 28, 1901 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 26, 2002, at the age of 100. She has lived in Hamilton County her entire life. Ada attended District Country School #56 and Aurora High School. Ada was united in marriage to Earl R. Green on February 27, 1924 at her parents' home north of Aurora. They farmed north of Aurora until Earl passed away on October 4, 1961, Ada then moved into Aurora. Ada was a member of the Salem Evangelical Church that joined with the United Brethren Church, then became the United Methodist Church. In her younger years she taught children's Sunday school classes and played the old pump organ for S.S. Ada was a long time member of the S.O.S. Club, W.C.T.U., and circles of her church. She enjoyed her family, church, sewing, music, flowers and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, Warren Lee, Wayne and Harlan; one brother, Lyle Lantzer; two sisters, Mabel Merrit and Helen Iliff and one great-grandchild. Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Ramon Green and his wife Betty of Lincoln, Myrl Green and his wife JoAnne of Cottage Grove, Oregon and Steve Green and his wife Nancy of Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Betty M. Green of Aurora; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. |
