Dorothy Grigsby

Dorothy Grigsby, age 51, Aurora Co-op Book keeper, of Aurora, died suddenly Thursday Afternoon at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday Afternoon at the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ. The Rev. Maurine Hale will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday Evening at the Mortuary.

Obituary: Dorothy Grigsby

Dorothy Ann Grigsby, the daughter of Perry Raymond and Martha Ruth (Eaton) Grigsby, was born at Moline, Illinois, on September 30, 1943, and died suddenly at Aurora, Nebraska on January 5, 1995, at the age of 51 years, 3 months, and 5 days.

When she was 3 years old the family moved to Aurora, where she attended school and graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1961. During that time she worked as a lifeguard and taught Red Cross swimming lessons. She attended Kearney State College form 1961 to 1962, then returned to Aurora and was employed at the Aurora Co-op elevator for over 30 years, until her death.

Dorothy enjoyed gardening, crafts and collecting recipes. She loved going to garage sales and finding bargains. Her life’s focus was her family, work and her pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew Bryce Raymond Gallion.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her sister Gloria Gallion and her husband David of Albion, their children, Todd, Jeff, Leanne and Tim, her brother Jim Grigsby and his wife Martha of Aurora, and their children John and Christian.
