Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 21, 1987 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mabel Guard

Mabel Guard, the daughter of Zara and Nan (Sidle) Granger, was born at Sargent, Nebraska, on November 22, 1903, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 18, 1987, at the age of 83 years, 1 month, and 26 days.

She attended school in the Sargent area, and on June 29, 1928, she was united in marriage to Melvin Guard, at Aurora. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1965.

After their marriage they resided in Ericson, and Ravenna, and in 1936 they moved to Aurora. In 1955 they moved to Lincoln, and after her husband’s death, she had spent the last few years in Aurora.

Mabel was a member of the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Michael; two brothers, Boyd and Wayne Granger; and 2 step-children Ray Guard and Gwen Frakes.

She is survived by three sisters; Zella White of Scottsbluff, Eva Anderson of Wahoo, and Doris Galbreth of Powersville, Missouri.
