Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 19, 1988 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: C. Walter Gustafson

C. Walter Gustafson, the son of Emil and Alma (Sundberg) Gustafson, was born on November 26, 1910, on a farm northwest of Aurora, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 17, 1988, at the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 21 days.

He attended country school in Hamilton County, where he began farming at an early age, continuing almost uninterrupted until his retirement in 1976.

On March 19, 1930, he was married to Violet V. Veed of Hordville, forming a partnership that spanned over 58 years.

He farmed for most of his career in the Marquette area, where he was a member of the Marquette Methodist Church and the Marquette school board, serving a term as president. He was also a 30 year member of the Marquette Volunteer Fire Department, serving as their Chief for a number of years, and a charter member of the Marquette Lions Club. He has been a resident of Aurora for the past 5 years.

Walt was preceded in death by his son Charles, his parents, Emil and Alma and step-mother Florence, a sister Helen Johnson and a brother Rueben.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Violet, of Aurora; 2 sons Eldon of Phillips and Royce of Aurora; 3 daughters Donna Erlenbusch of Omaha, Connie Nissen of Hampton, and Karen Cox, of Aurora; 3 sisters, Marie Klawonn of Aurora, Mildred Goertzen of Henderson, and Alma Wall of Aurora; a brother Bill Bister and sister-in-law Doris of Marquette; 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
