Elsa GustafsonFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 28, 1989 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Elsa Gustafson Elsa Kristin Gustafson, the daughter of Gustaf and Kristin (Zavgren) Forsman, was born February 21, 1898, in Djufvik, Sweden, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on June 26, 1989, at the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 5 days. She came to Aurora in 1903, at the age of 5. Two years later the family moved to a farm near Loup City, where she attended school. In 1918, the family moved back to Hamilton County in the Monroe Precinct, where they farmed. On March 30, 1922, she was united in marriage to John Gustafson, at the Monroe Parsonage. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1983. After their marriage they farmed in the Monroe vicinity and in 1974 they retired and moved into Aurora. In August of 1983, Elsa moved to the Memorial Care Center at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Elsa was a longtime member of the Monroe Evangelical Free Church, and was active in Women’s Missionary Society and the Church Choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, 2 brothers, Eric and Uno Forsman, and one sister Bertha Forsman. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her brother, Ivan Forsman, and her sister Alice Forsman, both of Aurora, nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. |
