Keith GustafsonKeith Gustafson, age 77, of Phillips, longtime area farmer died Tuesday afternoon, January 18, 2000, at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday at Monroe Evangelical Free Church north of Murphy. Rev. Mark Dunham and Rev. Mel Loge will officiate. Interment will be in Monroe Evangelical Free Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M., Wednesday at Higby Mortuary. OBITUARY: KEITH GUSTAFSON Keith A. Gustafson, the son of Joseph and Esther (Newquist) Gustafson, was born in Phillips, Nebraska on February 15, 1922 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 18, 2000, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 3 days. He grew up on a family farm near Phillips. He graduated from Phillips High School. He served in the Navy during World War II. He returned to the farm after the war. Keith was united in marriage to DeLoris Holen on September 27, 1947. They lived on his grandfather’s homestead, where he farmed for 52 years. He was a member of Monroe Evangelical Free Church, where he held various leadership positions. Keith was active in the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed baseball, softball, bowling, horseshoes, and loved to watch sporting events. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wes and Phil, and one infant brother and one infant sister. Survivors include his wife, DeLoris; two daughters, Roylene Michels and her husband Dale of Lincoln and Perky Schoenhals of Lincoln; two sons, Mark Gustafson and his wife Kris of Elkhorn and Charles Gustafson and his wife Leanne of Phillips; 9 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Milton Gustafson of Griffin, Georgia and Mike Gustafson of Aurora; one sister, Eldora Nelson of Moline, Illinois. |
